Top 5 love songs
Sunday, 16 November 2008Well, there is something about certain songs that strike us right in the middle of our hearts. You may not know a few of these artists, but they are worth checking out. The following songs I deem the best love songs I’ve come across so far, and here’s why:

Although the lyrics might seem a bit cryptic, this song is so powerful, poetic and deep. He’d go anywhere and for how long it’d take to get her love, and you get to feel his conviction too.
U2 / Unchained melody:
Oh, my love, my darling
I’ve hungered for your touch
A long lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
Not actually written by U2, but their version is my favorite. He sounds so desperate and unsure whether he still has the love of his subject of affection.
A-ha / Angel in the snow:
Angel, angel or so
Wherever you may go
I’ll follow
Wherever you may go
You’re my angel in the snow
Sweet and simple, the melody is beautiful. This song was written for the songwriter’s wedding day. The singer is so good that he transmits me the emotions the one who wrote the song had while writing this song.
James Blunt / Goodbye my lover:
Despite not liking Blunt’s voice and some of his other work, I love this song. It pictures the breakup very well, and I can somehow feel it when he sings: “I’m so hollow babe, I’m so hollow…“. It reaches deep into my heart.
Espen Lind / I want you:
Been looking out for a saviour
Been around the world but baby
I want you, I want you
The guitar intro is amazing, one of the best I’ve heard. I love this song so much…He’s got no more excuses, and he won’t be afraid to commit any longer, he wants her. It’s simply beautiful!
